And that is NOT a common portrayal of men throughout media. the James Bonds, is not sexualisation of men it's idealisation. Idealisations of men as 'tall, strong, macho, confident, and can woo any lady' ie. You realise that's not sexualisation, right? That you're not being led to objectify and lust after those depictions of men?ĮDIT: for the downvoters, please explain to me how idealisation of men as macho and confident is sexual? Please look up the definition of the term sexualisation, since that refers to a very specific way of depicting someone or something that invokes thoughts of sex and desire. I was made fun of in high school relentlessly for being absolutely none of those things, and still am from time to time. Have you seen how men are portrayed in magazines, TV shows, movies, video games and music videos? We're told that the ideal man is tall, muscular, strong, macho, confident and can woo any lady.
